2007 | JanuarySecond

Damnit. I just did this. I typed up a post, and I just had to hit the backspace button before I could save it. I just effin had to. I am not amused. Here we go again.

The server is lagging–was lagging. Since I abolished everything I typed, it seems to be loading steadily again. Anywho, I’m guessing (I guessed) it was from post New Year’s lag. You know, when all the non-geeks finally get over their 2007 hangovers from partying all night. Hey–don’t look at me. I spent new years at home in bed, alternating between a book and browsing the internet because I couldn’t get the stupid heater working. It was either stay at home alone doing that or brood with my parents and little brother at a party where everyone else is either under 10 or over 35. What would you chose?

So back to my original story (the second time around is always more long-winded than the first). While the server was lagging, I clicked on over the SurpassHosting to see what was wrong and if it was just my server expiriencing the problems. Apparently not, because their site took even longer than it did to take this page to load [the first time around]. But what do I see? A makeover. Now the place looks just like every other white, gray, pink, and black-gradiented web 2.0 theme. I trying to decided if I love it to pieces or if I need to knock it over the head and tell them to get something more coporate. I’m leaning on love.

While waiting for the navigation to load, I scroll down the page and scan through their featured plan. As always, it’s the Power - $6/month for 200GB of space, as usual. Yeah, yeah. 2000GB Bandwidth.

Wait. Backtrack.

200 GIGABYTES of space. Gigabyts. 2000 GB of bandwidth!? For their usual $60/year. Yeah, right. Must be a typo.

But no. When the Shared Plans page loads, the entire thing is jumping off the screen with triple zero bandwidth plans. They have lost their minds. Loco. Crazy. Coocoo. How the hell are they planning to support this? But - OMFG, in the only acronym of teeny boppers than can be used to describe this.

Okay. Now I’m off to go bug support to up my stats. I’m not going to need them for about another two hundred centuries, but hey. I’m not complaining as long as things continue to run smoothly.
